More than 960 first-year students from the College of Engineering and Architecture (CEA) of Pampanga State University (PamSU) participated in an orientation on the Universal Access to Quality Tertiary Education Act (RA 10931) and its student assistance programs.
The orientation was led by Richard N. Briones, MAGC, RGC, Director of the Office of Student Admissions and Support Services (OSASS) and UniFAST Focal Person for PamSU.
Briones discussed what it means to be an Iskolar ng Bayan, including the benefits and responsibilities that come with receiving government support for tertiary education. He also explained the available assistance programs under UniFAST, particularly the Tertiary Education Subsidy (TES) and Tulong Dunong Program (TDP).
The students were also oriented on the processes involved in applying for and availing of TES and TDP, including the requirements and other important information they need to know as student beneficiaries.
The orientation aims to help first-year students understand the government’s programs for accessible tertiary education and guide them in making use of the educational assistance available to qualified students.
